Frequently Asked Questions

Insurance doesn’t cover the care at Functional Medicine Center Of MN. Why not?

Medical insurance covers surgery, injections, and prescription medications. We do not use any of those treatments. We use natural approaches to help your body heal, and insurance doesn’t cover those services. We offer various financing options for our patients.

Why does my spouse or someone close to me need to attend my 90-minute assessment?

It can be very reassuring to have a second set of ears to absorb all of the information conveyed during the 90-minute assessment. The person closest to you may also have additional information to share that would be helpful to your treatment.

How long will my treatments take?

At the end of your initial 90-minute assessment and evaluation, you will be presented with a care plan that is personalized for you and your specific situation. It will outline the exact number of visits, type of treatments, and cost of those treatments. While there is some flexibility in scheduling, most care plans can be completed in four to six weeks.

Are the treatments permanent?

Our goal is to get you healthy and have you come back a few times each year to tell us how good you are feeling. We will work with you to get your body into a healing state. The more you adjust your lifestyle to support that healing state, the better your body will remain. The stronger and healthier you are, the more resistant you are to the potential of recurring conditions. At the end of your care plan, you will have a re-evaluation to determine how your body is responding to treatments and determine what, if any, additional treatments you may want or need.

Will I have to change my diet?

Most patients are encouraged to eat a diet of clean meat, vegetables, and fruit. We strongly recommend you do not eat sugars or grains. Many of our patients report how much better they feel when they eat this style. Plus, they often lose weight as an added bonus!
